We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Director of Packaging to lead our global packaging strategy and execution. This critical leadership role sits at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, consumer experience, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong cross-functional leadership, and a passion for delivering premium, sustainable packaging and retail display solutions that elevate our brand and delight consumers - especially kids and caregivers.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
Set and Lead Global Packaging Strategy
Define a cohesive packaging vision aligned with brand, sustainability, operational, and market-specific goals.
Oversee End-to-End Packaging Development
Manage the full lifecycle from concept to commercialization and continuous improvement, ensuring packaging meets functional, aesthetic, and business requirements (including retail and channel-specific needs).
Drive Innovation in Materials and Design
Champion new packaging formats and materials that balance sustainability, cost, performance, and consumer experience.
Ensure Quality, Testing, and Regulatory Compliance
Establish robust standards and testing protocols, ensuring global compliance - especially for children’s products.
Own Retail Display Strategy and Execution
Lead the design and deployment of impactful in-store displays (e.g., PDQs, endcaps, demo station structures) tailored to retailer needs and aligned with brand and shopper objectives.
Optimize Packaging for Cost and Efficiency
Identify and implement design-to-value and automation opportunities without compromising quality or on-shelf brand impact.
Collaborate Across Teams and Vendors
Act as the packaging expert across cross-functional teams - including Product, Brand, and Operations - and manage global supplier relationships to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions.
What we are looking for:
15+ years of progressive experience in packaging within consumer-packaged goods, with international exposure (North America and EU markets preferred).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Deep knowledge of packaging systems, materials, converting and printing processes, and testing standards (e.g., ISTA, ASTM).
Strong experience with retailer-specific packaging requirements (e.g., Walmart, Carrefour, Target).
Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks) and structural packaging design.
Proven track record in sustainable packaging innovation and EPR compliance.
Fluent in both creative and technical packaging development (including 2D/3D aesthetics and consumer-centric design), from design brief to execution.
Strong leadership, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Fluent in English.
