Job description

CK Group are recruiting for an experienced Operations Leader at a Director level, with proven experience in a scaling start-up environment, to join a growing biotechnology company, located in Cambridge, on a permanent basis.


The Company:

Our client is an expanding biotech company, focused in revolutionising protein research.


Location:

The position is based in Cambridge, and will be fully on-site.


The Role:

Working closely with the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will build, manage, grow the operations teams and oversee supplier relationships as the company continues to grow. This includes developing further and maintaining operational strategy including lab operations, facilities, compliance and IT.


You will additionally be responsible for:

• Oversee operational strategy ensuring company infrastructure can scale effectively.
• Being senior point of contact for suppliers, contractors, landlords, and external partners.
• To oversee the laboratory and facilities operations and improve processes across HR, legal, supplier management, IT, lab, and facilities.
• Lead risk management, including compliance frameworks, HSE and regulatory compliance.
• Budget and finance responsibilities.

Your Background:

• Degree qualified in life sciences, science or equivalent.
• Successful background in operations leadership roles within biotech, life sciences, or engineering sectors.
• Experience managing laboratory or facilities operations.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiar with regulatory compliance: ISO standards, laboratory safety certifications and quality systems.
• Highly skilled in supplier negotiations.
