Job summary

Imperial College London, in partnership with the University of Cumbria, seeks a Head of Medical Sciences and Evaluation for the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine. You will lead on campus delivery, curriculum management, and the VLE, shaping student experience and assessment quality.

You will implement the PCSM Evaluation Strategy, oversee data collection and analysis, and coordinate with QA and operations to ensure alignment with GMC standards and mission.

Qualifications

• PhD in medical sciences required with significant postdoctoral experience.
• Qualification in medical education or leadership (e.g., Advance HE fellowship) preferred.
• Extensive experience of research in medical science and medical education.
• Experience in curriculum planning, development, and governance in Higher Education.

Responsibilities

• Lead on delivery of Medical Sciences modules and assessment to ensure outstanding student experience.
• Ensure quality and timely provision of learning materials and assessments meeting GMC outcomes.
• Align curriculum and assessments with GMC Outcomes for Graduates and Medical Licensing Assessment.
• Manage timetabling, governance processes, and reporting on curriculum/assessment activities.
• Lead implementation of the PCSM Evaluation Strategy and data-informed improvement.
