Director of Business Development and Marketing

I’m delighted to be partnering with leading law firm Boodle Hatfield LLP on the hire of their new Director of Business Development and Marketing.

Boodle Hatfield has been providing practical advice to businesses and individuals for over 300 years. Their clients come from a wide range of sectors, both in the UK and internationally, including well-established owner-managed businesses, property companies, entrepreneurial enterprises, and ultra-high net worth families. Their chief priority is helping clients achieve their commercial objectives.

They are recruiting an experienced Director of Business Development and Marketing to join their executive team. This role involves working closely with the executive board to drive the BD & Marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will develop and deliver strategies to support the firm's growth, leveraging their client base and reputation in the high-net-worth individual (HNWI) sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the executive board to create, execute, and oversee the firm's BD & Marketing strategy.
  • Client Development: Identify marketing and business development opportunities, understanding the firm's services and sectors.
  • Recognize that different practices and client relationships are developed differently and identify strategies for profitable growth.
  • Brand Enhancement: Support understanding of external market perception and clarify brand positioning.
  • Ensure consistent external communication strategies across channels, including website and social media.
  • Drive collaboration and cross-selling within the firm.
  • Commercial Insight: Lead on pitches and tenders, providing insights into client activity, growth opportunities, and profitability.
  • Implement ROI principles and reporting for marketing activities.

About You:

  • Experience: Previous experience at the same level or aspiring to a director role in BD & Marketing within a top-tier law firm.
  • Skills: Excellent management skills, proactive, sensitive to firm culture, with a collaborative approach.
  • Expertise: Understanding of the private wealth legal market and marketing strategies within this space.
