Director of Investor Relations and Treasury

This is a rare opportunity at Saga plc for a 12-month interim role. We are seeking a Director of Investor Relations (IR) and Treasury to join our leadership team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You will work with a small, dynamic team across both areas, owning the IR operations and serving as the key contact for all IR-related activities, including communication materials and maintaining relationships within the financial community. From the Treasury perspective, you will oversee financial health, risk mitigation, asset protection, and return maximization.

This role offers significant exposure for those aiming to develop into C-suite leaders. We require an established, credible leader experienced in IR/Treasury within a plc environment. Most of the hard work has been completed over the past 18 months; now we look forward to growth.

You will report directly to the Group CFO and collaborate with the Group CEO and leadership across our business units: Travel, Insurance, Money, and the Magazine. Saga aims for sustainable growth and to be the most trusted brand for older people in the UK.

We offer flexible working arrangements, with occasional presence in our London hub and visits to Folkestone, Kent.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead creation of presentations, press releases, and communication materials for results, capital markets, and investor events.
• Manage consensus building with analysts to align perceptions with business plans.
• Maintain relationships with institutional investors and assist their understanding of Saga.
• Manage Annual Report & Accounts and AGM processes, leading cross-functional teams.
• Organize external events such as results presentations, roadshows, and investor meetings.
• Oversee shareholder websites’ content and technical aspects.
• Conduct competitor analysis with financial metrics and insights.
• Facilitate feedback flow to the Board and senior stakeholders.
• Manage Group’s Treasury Policy, cash management, derivatives, reporting, and compliance.
• Oversee liquidity management and forecasting.
• Handle credit facilities, compliance, and reporting.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead projects from IR and Treasury perspectives, managing impacts and communication.
• Maintain risk register, controls, and reporting for IR and Treasury.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, rating agencies, analysts, advisors, auditors, and lenders.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified accountant with FP&A experience. Travel or financial services background preferred but open to other industries with proven IR or Treasury track record.
