Job Summary:
The Director of Technology and Infrastructure is a senior technology leader responsible for the design, development, modernization, and ongoing evolution of the enterprise's core technology infrastructure. This role will lead the global infrastructure strategy, including cloud architecture, network design, systems engineering, platform scalability, and emerging technology integration. The focus is on enabling a secure, high-performing, and future-ready technology foundation that supports the organization’s digital ambitions.
This individual will bring deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong leadership to drive innovation across infrastructure domains while ensuring resilience, scalability, and efficiency across all platforms and environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Architecture
- Define and lead the global infrastructure technology strategy in alignment with business and digital transformation objectives.
- Architect enterprise-scale, hybrid-cloud environments that balance innovation, performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., containers, serverless computing, edge computing, AI ops) to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with application, data, and security teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure with overall enterprise architecture.
Infrastructure Engineering & Modernization
- Lead infrastructure modernization programs, including cloud migration, software-defined networking, and data centre transformation.
- Drive the engineering of scalable, high-availability platforms that support mission-critical systems and global operations.
- Establish technology standards and patterns for infrastructure components and platform services.
Innovation, Automation & DevOps Enablement
- Champion infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD integration, and automation of provisioning, monitoring, and management.
- Support product engineering and DevOps teams with platform reliability, observability, and environment management.
- Promote a “platform engineering” approach to infrastructure delivery, supporting self-service and agility.
Leadership & Technical Team Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of infrastructure architects, cloud engineers, systems engineers, and platform specialists.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Guide the team in solving complex technology problems and building next-generation infrastructure solutions.
Governance, Security & Resilience
- Partner with cybersecurity, compliance, and risk teams to ensure all infrastructure meets regulatory, security, and governance standards.
- Own and evolve infrastructure-related components of business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response strategies.
- Define and enforce architecture governance and change control practices for infrastructure environments.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Master’s degree in a technical or business field is a plus.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or technology architecture roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Proven experience architecting and implementing cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure at scale.
- Deep expertise across domains such as compute, networking, storage, virtualization, containers, identity, and observability.
- Successful leadership of large-scale transformation or modernization initiatives, ideally in complex, global environments.
Certifications (preferred):
- TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks
