We are now transforming our business and taking our expertise into new territories including obesity and rare blood and endocrine diseases.

Our story is one of incredible growth and success, which has culminated in receiving many prestigious awards, such as Best Places to Work and Vitality – Britain’s Healthiest Workplace.

This hybrid position is based in our beautiful Gatwick office, with the flexibility to work in the office 2-3 days a week and from home for the remaining days.

The Position

Novo Nordisk is looking for a dynamic Director of Health Economics to join our fantastic team in the UK.

If you are passionate about influencing commercial strategy and providing strategic oversight and management of the UK's Health Technology Assessment (HTA) & National Access strategy, including how this evidence can be used to support uptake, this is the perfect role for you.

In this senior leadership position, you will lead and develop a high-performing team of professionals while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Additionally, you will:

  • Ensure alignment with commercial teams on indication sequencing, positioning and managed entry, using your knowledge of UK National Access to inform commercial strategy and execution
  • Define and execute HTA strategy for Novo Nordisk's UK portfolio and develop innovative solutions for HTA challenges, including Patient Access Schemes and Managed Entry Agreements.
  • Oversee development of HTA dossiers for UK payer agencies and manage external collaborations.
  • Support UK HTA and market access activities, including horizon scanning and evidence generation.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team, oversee talent review processes, and set aligned goals.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Social/Health Sciences or Business, with Market Access experience; Master's Degree and Health Economic qualification are advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in successful UK HTA submissions, economic model development, and evidence generation.
  • Previous direct managerial experience and a background in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent. Candidates with experience from institutions like NICE will also be considered.
  • Profound knowledge of UK reimbursement processes and preferably some experience with patient access scheme/commercial deals.
  • Strong understanding of business dynamics, risk mitigation, and project management.
  • You should demonstrate effective time management and prioritization abilities. Additionally, we seek individuals who can challenge decisions and possess a strong strategic mindset.
