Director of Geotechnical Engineering

The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in geotechnics/geoenvironmental consulting/engineering geology, leading a team, reviewing and signing off on technical reports. This role demands strong technical and management capabilities along with excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders effectively. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineering senior manager to join a well-established consultancy.

This Director of Geotechnical Engineering opportunity involves:

- Oversee and lead the geotechnical and environmental teams, providing technical guidance and leading project delivery

- Review and sign off on technical reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations

- Engage with stakeholders including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met

- Manage and administer projects including tendering, resource allocation, and financial oversight

- Provide expert advice and support on geotechnical and environmental issues, with a focus on quality and innovation

Candidate Requirements:

- Professional certification or licensure in Geotechnical Engineering

- Extensive experience in geotechnical design, contaminated land assessments, and project management

- Strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices

- Live within a commutable distance of their Milton Keynes/Northamptonshire office
