About The Hospice of St Francis:

We believe hospice care is a fundamental human right. For over 45 years, we have provided outstanding hospice care to the community, rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC since 2016. We support 2,000 local people and their families, offering tailored care at home, at our hospice, and in our inpatient unit.

Role Overview:

The Director of Fundraising will lead our fundraising efforts, overseeing income streams including appeals, legacy giving, and matched funding programs. You will manage a team to deliver over £2.5m annually, steward £1m in legacies, and develop strategies to generate additional income, aiming for ≥£1m growth by 2028.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead strategic planning and development of innovative fundraising approaches.
  2. Build strategic partnerships and alliances across sectors.
  3. Represent the hospice externally and build networks to garner support.
  4. Research and implement new philanthropy models, including social investments.
  5. Lead a team of experienced professionals and develop the fundraising pipeline.
Candidate Profile:

An innovative, strategic leader with excellent storytelling skills and a passion for hospice care. You should be adept at data-driven decision-making, building relationships, and operating effectively at Board/Committee levels.
