Director of Group Financial Planning and Analysis
Media and Technology Group
12-month Fixed Term Contract
Central London (Hybrid)
A high-growth and acquisitive media and technology group, backed by private equity, is seeking to appoint a Director of Group Financial Planning & Analysis on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This newly created role has been established in response to the company’s continued expansion, increasing complexity, and ambitious international growth strategy. With a potential IPO on the horizon, the business is entering a pivotal phase in its journey, and this role represents a rare opportunity to help shape its strategic direction during a critical period.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of FP&A will lead all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting at group level. This individual will play a key role as a strategic partner to the CFO and CEO and wider executive leadership team, delivering actionable insight to support high-impact commercial decisions across the business – including market expansion, acquisitions, and investment appraisal.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the group FP&A, working cross-functionally to align stakeholders, hold budget owners accountable, and drive performance. They will lead the development of the FP&A function, designing and embedding scalable processes and systems to support continued growth. A major focus will be implementing a formalised quarterly reforecasting and annual budgeting process across the organisation, ensuring the finance function delivers timely, accurate, and insightful reporting.
The role will involve presenting weekly forecasts and full monthly P&L reforecasts to the Executive Team, helping to maintain tight control and alignment between forecast and actuals. A new emphasis on cost control and EBITDA visibility will require this individual to champion financial discipline, transparency, and rigour across the business.
Acting as a senior finance business partner, the Director will also lead on long-range planning, board-level reporting, and the preparation of financials for investor updates and strategic reviews. Investment analysis, including IRR modelling and profit pool analysis, will be an important part of the remit, as will scenario planning and financial evaluation of new business cases. The role also includes oversight of financial integrity at month-end – including reviewing postings – and will require coordination across multiple jurisdictions and currencies.
As the primary point of contact for the business’s private equity owners, the Director will be instrumental in supporting the value creation plan and helping prepare the business for a future exit.
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, MBA or equivalent) with a strong academic background and significant experience in senior FP&A leadership roles. Candidates will ideally have operated in fast-paced, high-growth environments, particularly in the media or technology sectors, and have experience working with or within private equity-backed businesses.
The ideal candidate will combine outstanding analytical and modelling skills with strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence at the most senior levels. A hands-on, proactive leadership style is essential, along with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams. Success in this role will require someone who thrives in entrepreneurial, agile environments and who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
