Leeds Beckett is a modern, professional university with ambition. We are a diverse community of over 23,000 students from 140 countries and 2,800 staff and an annual turnover in the region of GBP250m. We are globally–engaged and an anchor institution, contributing to a thriving northern economy in Leeds and the wider region. We make a positive and decisive difference to people, communities and organisations through excellent education, research, partnership and service.

We have a strong sense of momentum and collective purpose in our work to achieve both cultural and financial resilience as we navigate the challenges facing the sector currently. In this context, our new Director will develop a clear and modern vision that enables the delivery of our brand new strategy and ensures our physical and digital spaces enhance our academic endeavours. We are seeking to create a campus of the future, one that drives and creates innovative new ways of working and reinforces the centrality of the University to the city and its communities.

To achieve this, we require an outstanding individual, a Director with the ability and appetite to balance strategic leadership with operational delivery. You will have a sustained track record of developing high–performing teams and delivering complex transformation and modernisation programmes involving people, infrastructure, services and culture change. You will have excellent communication skills, significant commercial acumen and a proven ability to develop highly productive relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.

We are committed to ensuring that our senior leaders are representative of our diverse student body and wider region. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.
