Viator is seeking an experienced Director of Security with a blend of software engineering and security engineering skills to lead our Security and Compliance Engineering team, reporting to the head of our engineering platform. This role can be remote from the UK, Portugal, or Poland, or a hybrid based out of Oxford, London, or Lisbon.

Responsibilities
  • Assess security risks and implement initiatives to mitigate them.
  • Own and improve the Security Incident response process and detection capabilities.
  • Manage Risk and Compliance programs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices.
  • Implement automation tools for security processes.
  • Design and lead our security champions program.
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership in managing security teams within software product companies.
  • Strong technical understanding of security, DevOps, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.) and translating security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience leading security initiatives in large-scale distributed systems.
  • Development experience with cloud-native applications, CI/CD, Terraform.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS and managing multiple security teams.
