Job description

Who we are, what we do & why we do it:

We are Dext - the world's leading accounting and bookkeeping automation software provider. Our products empower businesses with real-time visibility and control over spend, payments, and expenses, helping accountants and bookkeepers work more efficiently with complex financial data workflows.

Dext is a FinTech company founded in London and operating across Europe, North America and APAC. With a presence in 6 countries and over 400 employees worldwide, we are experiencing annual growth of over 50% in France, generating €15M in revenue. Our goal? To double these numbers within the next two years!

Role Overview

The Director of Data & Analytics will be a strategic business leader responsible for defining and executing the company's data strategy. This role bridges the gap between business and data teams, ensuring that analytics drive smarter, faster, and more profitable decisions across the company.

You will work directly with C-suite executives and senior leaders, helping refine our commercial strategy, revenue performance metrics, and customer insights. While this is a leadership role, we're a fast-moving company, and sometimes you'll need to roll up your sleeves—whether it's refining a dashboard, optimizing a key data pipeline, or troubleshooting a complex analytics challenge.

You'll lead and mentor teams across key analytics functions such as Product, Marketing, Commercial Analytics and Data and Analytics Engineering:

The teams use tools like Segment & Mixpanel to track user behavior, guide product strategy, and measure feature impact. We analyze data from Salesforce, NetSuite, and other sources to drive revenue performance, pipeline insights, and sales forecasting. From an engineering perspective, we maintain Python-based data pipelines for seamless ingestion into Snowflake, using dbt to model and optimize data.

This role requires a blend of business acumen, executive-level stakeholder management, and technical execution—someone who can advise the C-suite on strategy, lead teams, and contribute directly when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Impact

  • Partner with C-suite executives to provide data-driven recommendations on revenue growth, commercial performance, and product strategy.
  • Define and execute a data strategy that aligns with business priorities and enables faster, more informed decision-making.
  • Establish a data-driven culture, ensuring teams across the business leverage analytics effectively.

Commercial & Product Analytics

  • Define and track core revenue KPIs, sales performance metrics, and customer behaviour insights to optimise growth strategies.
  • Work with Finance and Sales to enhance forecasting, pipeline analysis, and pricing strategies.
  • Develop insights around customer lifetime value (LTV), churn, and acquisition effectiveness, helping refine go-to-market strategies.

Data Infrastructure & Execution

  • Guide the development and optimisation of data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Ensure the Snowflake data warehouse and dbt models are structured efficiently for business analytics.
  • When necessary, jump in to debug a data pipeline, optimise a SQL query, or refine a key dashboard to keep things moving.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Bridge the gap between business and data teams, ensuring technical solutions align with commercial needs.
  • Present complex data insights in a clear, compelling way to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop a roadmap for analytics maturity, ensuring teams evolve from basic reporting to advanced predictive analytics.

About you - what we are looking for:

Must-Have Experience

  • 10+ years in data & analytics roles, with significant leadership experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Proven track record advising and influencing C-suite executives using data-driven insights.
  • Experience defining business KPIs, revenue performance metrics, and customer analytics strategies.
  • Strong commercial acumen—deep understanding of SaaS business models, including ARR, retention, expansion, and churn dynamics.
  • Willingness to be hands-on when necessary—whether it's refining a data model, troubleshooting a pipeline, or debugging a reporting issue.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Experience working with Salesforce, NetSuite, and commercial analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines and ETL workflows, ideally using Python.
  • Expertise in modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data modeling with dbt.
  • Familiarity with self-service analytics platforms (Looker, Omni, Holistics, Lightdash, Mixpanel, Amplitude).

Leadership & Communication

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into business decisions.
  • Experience leading and scaling cross-functional teams across analytics, engineering, and business operations.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring data initiatives drive measurable business impact.

Why Join Us?

  • High-Impact Role: Shape and lead the data function in a fast-growing B2B SaaS company.
  • Executive Influence: Work directly with the C-suite to drive business strategy using data.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Lead, mentor, and occasionally dive into the details when necessary.

What we offer - the perks:

  • Competitive salary;
  • Flexible working;
  • 25 days off plus bank holidays volunteering days, summer hours and a day off the week of your birthday;
  • Employer-paid private medical insurance and health cash plan (Medicash - reloadable shopping cards, cinema ticket discounts, online discounts and more!);
  • Cycle to work scheme;
  • Access to LinkedIn Learning;
  • Payroll giving;
  • Income protection;
  • Mental health support through Help@Hand.

If you are a commercially-minded data leader who can advise executives, drive business strategy, and get hands-on when needed, we'd love to hear from you!
