As a Matron (Director of Nursing) at our Glasgow Hospital, you’ll have a strong track record in leading and developing nursing practice. As well as a thorough understanding of evidence-based practice and the healthcare regulatory agenda, you’re able to stabilise and re-engage teams, driving the standards of care.

Responsibilities of a Matron (Director of Nursing):
  1. Quickly understand the clinical challenges facing our hospital and build excellent relationships with internal customers and external bodies
  2. Ensure that we provide safe and effective care through a range of surgical and medical interventions
  3. Deliver effective operational management and inspirational leadership
  4. Be a role model for excellent clinical governance, providing strategy and direction for our hospital
  5. Champion improvements to clinical standards, care, and service across wards, theatres, outpatients, pharmacy, radiology, imaging, cardiology, and pathology
  6. Always be approachable and accessible to patients, relatives, and colleagues
