Business Operations Director – East Midlands

Salary - £80,000 + Package

Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for driving operational excellence in a fast-growing business? We are looking for a Business Operations Director to take the reins of a high-performing, multi-site organisation, ensuring seamless execution across all business functions.

The Role:

As Business Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, scaling strategies, and cross-functional leadership. Working closely with the Founder, you will translate strategic vision into operational success, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and sustained growth. Ideally you will have come from an education background with exposure of dealing with Ofsted.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and optimise operations, sales, marketing, finance, and recruitment functions.
• Manage a 250+ strong workforce, ensuring accountability, performance, and engagement.
• Implement scalable processes and frameworks to drive operational efficiency.
• Lead monthly business reviews (MBRs) to track key metrics and drive improvements.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and cost control, ensuring commercial success.
• Work closely with external partners and suppliers, including marketing, IT, and sales teams.
• Be a hands-on leader, fostering a strong culture of teamwork, performance, and continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in senior operations leadership (e.g., Operations Director, Head of Business Operations, Regional Director).
• Experience within the Education system
• Strong background in managing large, dispersed teams (250+ employees).
• Commercially astute with a track record of scaling operations in a growing business.
• Detail-driven, with excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working alongside a founder/entrepreneur, bringing structure and execution to ideas.
• Hands-on approach—not just a strategist, but an implementer.
