The Director of Business Development will be a critical growth leader, shaping how we expand our client base, strengthen partnerships, and position our brand in the marketplace.
As Director of Business Development, you will act as a strategist, relationship-builder, and growth architect. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll design and execute a roadmap that fuels the firm’s next phase of expansion. This is a high-visibility role with a mandate to create meaningful client engagements, open new revenue streams, and evolve our business development culture across the firm.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the business development strategy to grow the firm’s advisory practice and integrated services portfolio.
- Identify new markets, sectors, and opportunities that align with the firm’s strengths and growth vision.
- Partner with leadership to shape long-term revenue targets, service offerings, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Build, nurture, and convert a robust pipeline of entrepreneurial clients, from early discovery to signed engagement.
- Leverage the firm’s integrated model (advisory, accounting, tax, investment banking, wealth, family office) to craft holistic value propositions.
- Lead the pursuit process for high-value opportunities, including RFP responses, proposals, and C-suite presentations.
- Forge strategic alliances with complementary firms, industry associations, and referral networks to expand reach.
- Represent the firm at targeted conferences, panels, and thought-leadership events to elevate brand visibility.
- Collaborate with marketing on employer branding, digital campaigns, and content strategies to support lead generation.
- Mentor client-facing professionals to enhance their business development capabilities and confidence.
- Introduce scalable tools, processes, and metrics that bring rigor to pipeline management and conversion.
- Promote a culture of curiosity, proactivity, and relationship-building across all levels of the firm.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in business development, client strategy, or growth leadership within professional services, advisory, consulting, or public accounting.
- Proven track record of securing mid-market to enterprise client engagements
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline—able to design growth roadmaps and deliver results.
- Comfort with cross-functional collaboration and influencing without direct authority.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in building, experimenting, and scaling within a dynamic advisory environment.
