Job summary

The Ombudsman Association (OA) in the UK is seeking a Director of Member Services for a 3-year fixed-term contract. The role is fully home working, with periodic travel, and involves leading member services development, networks, and revenue initiatives.

Salary is £60,000–£65,000 per annum, with 25 days leave and a pension scheme. Key duties include delivering the OA business plan, growing member services and networks, coordinating the re-validation process, and organising the annual conference.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership or operational management within a membership body or professional association.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Proven track record in mentoring and driving performance in small teams.
• Ability to switch between high-level strategy and hands-on delivery.
• Experience in income generation and financial forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Executive in delivering the OA's business plan and strategic objectives, deputising as required.
• Develop and grow members' services and networks, and ensure relevance for members.
• Develop OA Community as a hub for OA members to engage on key issues.
• Organise and deliver the OA's Annual Conference, including theme and programme orchestration.
• Oversee re-validation of OA Members and support the Validation Committee.
• Review and develop funding and revenue generation to improve sustainability.
• Provide leadership and supervision to OA staff with clear objectives.
