Job summary

Pharmaron, a global CRO, seeks an Associate Director/Director of Medicinal Chemistry to lead end-to-end strategy for new modalities such as ADCs, oral peptide and oligonucleotides. You will drive design and delivery of innovative drug discovery programmes and guide the IDD team’s expansion into emerging modalities.

You will partner with global teams to advance candidates, influence strategy, and contribute to IP and business development.

Qualifications

PhD in Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry (or equivalent experience).
10+ years in drug discovery within a leading pharma, biotech or CRO.
Proven track record of delivering candidates into clinical development.
Significant experience delivering molecules in emerging modalities through hit expansion and further optimisation.
Ideally experience managing external collaborations and client-facing projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver medicinal chemistry strategies from hit identification to candidate selection.
Lead on capability building, delivering project strategy and molecule design for ADCs, oral peptide and oligonucleotide therapeutics.
Maintain understanding of internal and external developments relevant to design and optimisation of next generation modalities.
Drive scientific excellence in compound design with data-led decision making.
Provide leadership to global project teams and collaborate with China-based teams.
Support business development, proposal development and scientific positioning.
