Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Director to lead the origination and execution of leveraged finance transactions within the UK mid-market.

This senior role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the growth of a well-capitalised direct lending platform.

The successful candidate will focus on providing tailored debt solutions to support private equity-backed transactions and other event-driven financing needs, including acquisitions, buyouts, and recapitalisations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Originate and lead mid-market leveraged finance transactions, typically between £5m–£30m
• Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity sponsors, corporate finance advisors, and other key intermediaries
• Take full ownership of the deal process, from initial engagement and credit structuring through to execution and funding
• Deliver bespoke financing solutions, including senior debt, unitranche, and subordinated debt
• Work closely with internal teams (credit, legal, portfolio) to ensure transactions are well-structured and efficiently executed
• Represent the firm in the market and help strengthen its profile across the UK leveraged finance landscape
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of a high-performing deal team

Candidate Profile:

• Extensive experience in originating and executing leveraged finance deals, ideally within a bank, debt fund, or advisory setting
• A strong network in the UK mid-market, particularly across private equity and advisory channels
• Solid understanding of credit risk, financial structuring, and legal documentation
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
• Commercially minded, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
