Job description

Director - Lender Insurance Advisory – AMATS

Do you have experience in Lender Insurance Advisory (LIA) and can you bring deep technical insurance experience combined with experience in leading and managing advisory services for infrastructure and project finance transactions, particularly in the renewables, wider power and energy sectors?

Are you keen to join Aon's highly-respected Mergers & Acquisitions and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) practice in a lead LIA advisory/reporting capacity?

If so, then we'd love to hear from you in connection with this Director level role that will be offered on a hybrid basis with the combination of working virtually and from our flagship London office!

Aon is in the business of better decisions. At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

What the day will look like

The primary responsibility will be to oversee and lead the delivery of a portfolio of Lender Advisory mandates (financings, refinancings and operational reviews), including managing the delivery of projects with more junior members of the team and our Krakow based project support colleagues. Project work will include:

  • Carrying out insurance due diligence.
  • Advising on the extent of risk transfer available within the traditional and non-traditional insurance markets.
  • Reviewing and advising on insurance provisions within project and finance documents, including liaison with lenders’ legal and other advisors.
  • Providing post-close services including ad-hoc advice to lenders and working with our wider team to deliver annual insurance programme reviews.

Additionally, the role will involve the proactive identification of any additional transaction insurance solutions and wider advisory services that Aon may also be able to provide Lenders and Sponsors during the transaction and following financial close. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Driving project management engagement revenue growth by raising the profile of the team both externally (sponsors, lenders, advisors) and internally within Aon.
  • Building strong networks both internally and externally (sponsors, lenders, advisors), particularly in the renewables sub-sector.
  • Building and fostering client relationships.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Extensive experience of managing client relationships within the Lender Advisory space.
  • Excellent understanding of London insurance market dynamics and core processes.
  • Excellent technical insurance knowledge.
  • Ability to utilise insurance industry IT systems for efficient client service delivery.
  • Strong business insight.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent understanding and application of compliance and FCA regulation.
