Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Financial Crime Data strategy aligned with the Group Control organization’s goals and Integrated Financial Crime (IFC) objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data sourcing, enrichment, and distribution capabilities in the Financial Crime domain, ensuring compliance with data control standards, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Formulate a technology strategy and drive the execution of a Data Control Framework within the Integrated Financial Crime program, including preventative, detective, and volumetric controls to ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance.
  • Ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of data systems, implementing best practices for monitoring and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate and integrate new technologies and solutions.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders in Compliance, Operations, Change, and Technology to prioritize and deliver the data roadmap.
  • Lead a global data team of over 100 resources across the UK and India.
  • Drive initiatives for operational efficiency and cost reduction within the data team.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering continuous learning and development.
  • Set objectives and performance expectations, conduct reviews, and provide feedback.
  • Champion organizational change to advance global Technology strategy.

Purpose of the role

Manage the delivery of large-scale technical projects across the bank, working with stakeholders to understand needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, ensuring adherence to time, budget, and quality standards.

Accountabilities

  • Manage delivery, resources, and improvements of complex technical projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Collaborate with customers and business teams to manage trials, support solution proposals, and set effort and timeline expectations.
  • Work with engineering teams to deliver high-quality products aligned with bank objectives, regulations, and security policies.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to prepare for challenges.
  • Manage change requests and stakeholder communication throughout projects.
  • Oversee vendor relations to ensure delivery according to terms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to improve outcomes and promote continuous learning and technical excellence.

Director Expectations

  • Manage a business function, contribute to strategic initiatives, and influence policies and procedures.
  • Lead a large team or sub-function, fostering a performance culture aligned with company values, or lead organization-wide projects as a technical expert.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management and committees.

  • Act as spokesperson for the function and division.
