Job summary

HM Treasury’s Growth Strategy Unit seeks an exceptional leader to steer the government’s growth agenda. You will advise senior ministers, shape cross‑department policy, and coordinate with No 10 and Centre of Government partners. Your role will fuse economic analysis with strategic policy development to drive growth outcomes for the UK.

You will lead a cross‑functional team, champion inclusive leadership, and work on high‑impact projects that inform strategic decisions at the highest levels.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding leadership experience delivering policy and growth strategy in complex environments.
  • Proven ability to set strategic direction and lead cross‑government teams.
  • Strong skills in communicating analysis to senior partners and ministers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice to the Chancellor and Treasury Ministers on growth strategies and priorities.
  • Coordinate with No 10, No 10 North and partner departments to align the growth agenda.
  • Lead Growth Economics Branch with evidence-based policy development.
  • Oversee cross-functional project teams to drive studies informing policy.
  • Demonstrate inclusive leadership and support diverse, high‑performing teams.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion and belonging across the unit.
