Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a senior sanctions leader to drive global compliance strategy from our London base. You will provide executive oversight across jurisdictions, partner with product and engineering on AI-assisted screening, and ensure regulatory readiness across multiple banking partners.

The role requires 12+ years in sanctions, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of international regimes. This is a hybrid London-based opportunity with significant strategic impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in sanctions compliance and financial crime risk.
• Executive leadership across multi-region teams.
• Deep knowledge of OFAC, EU, UK OFSI, UN, MAS, HKMA, AUSTRAC.
• Experience overseeing screening operations and AI/NLP tools.
• Ability to present complex topics to regulators and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee global sanctions strategy and governance across jurisdictions.
• Lead second-line oversight of screening operations and risk-based decisions.
• Manage regulatory examinations and disclosures with banking partners.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering on AI-assisted screening and data models.
• Report program health and risk metrics to executives and board.
