Job description

Director - Equities - Competitor Benchmarking

Tassell Consulting, London, United Kingdom

An exceptional team is hiring an Equities Product Lead for a market leader in benchmarking; senior markets professionals are encouraged to apply...

Over the years, this company has successfully competed against firms such as Oliver Wyman and McKinsey, establishing itself as the market leader in competitor benchmarking services for global market clients. They work with most top banks and many tier 2 and 3 financial institutions.

We are seeking a talented markets professional to help build and manage the equities product. This role involves analyzing indicators such as revenue, RonE, market share, and brand perception to provide clients with a detailed snapshot of their position relative to competitors.

This role is suitable for someone with a background in markets, either in a strategic or operational capacity, such as front office sales, client management, strategy, or business management. We value individuals who can make a significant impact within their teams. You will work with a talented group of largely ex-front office bankers from top banking institutions.

Attributes:
  1. Subject Matter Expertise: Ideally, knowledge of Equities content, but not essential. Must have understanding or experience of Corporate and Investment Banking markets, including trends, Financial Services sector, and key competitors. Relevant backgrounds include sales, client management, business management, strategy, or experience in the markets division of a major consulting firm. A broad interest in FICC and markets is also valuable.
  2. Data Skills: Ability to analyze data sets, identify trends, and produce reports and presentations for clients. While a team will assist with data analysis, the individual should be competent in this area; this role is not primarily for modellers or analysts.
  3. Entrepreneurial Spirit: Willingness to contribute to product development and the evolution of the Equities activity.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate internally and with clients, analyze data, convey key messages, and help improve performance models.

Flexible working arrangements are available, with 2-3 days in the office.

Base salary ranges from 120K to 155K GBP, with an average bonus of 20-40%, up to 65% for strong performance.
