Role Overview

We are seeking a

customer-focused, technically astute Energy / Building Performance Manager

to support the delivery of energy and carbon reduction strategies across a diverse portfolio of client sites. This role involves working closely with energy analysts and facilities teams to interpret data insights and ensure actionable implementation of energy-saving measures.

You will also play a key role in engaging with clients on their

carbon reduction journeys , leveraging building performance data, and driving improvements in collaboration with operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal energy analysts to interpret data and identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements using DLM (Data-Driven Lifecycle Management) or similar performance tools.

Work closely with site-based teams to ensure data-led recommendations are understood, actioned, and maintained.

Act as the client-facing lead on energy and carbon performance, guiding customers through a structured carbon reduction roadmap.

Support in the creation and delivery of tailored energy strategies aligned to customer goals and industry best practices.

Provide technical insight into building services systems and controls to influence energy and operational efficiency.

Produce reports, presentations, and case studies demonstrating achieved performance improvements.

Monitor ongoing site performance, flag anomalies, and proactively recommend improvements.

Keep abreast of industry regulations and technologies related to building performance and sustainability.

Key Requirements

Customer Focused:

Able to build strong client relationships and communicate technical topics in an accessible way.

Technically Astute:

Deep understanding of building services, HVAC systems, controls, and energy monitoring tools.

Strategic Thinking:

Proven background in energy management and delivering data-led energy-saving initiatives.

Sustainability Champion:

Demonstrated experience in supporting organisations on their carbon reduction and net-zero pathways.

Experience with digital platforms for building performance monitoring (e.g., DLM systems, BMS analytics, or equivalent).

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work across departments and levels, from site engineers to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

Degree or relevant qualification in Energy Management, Building Services Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.

Membership of relevant industry bodies (e.g., CIBSE, Energy Institute) is desirable.

Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent is a plus.
