Job summary

Mizuho EMEA is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join the Derivatives and Structured Finance Legal team in London as Director. The role provides strategic legal support across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for banking and structured financing transactions, liaising with front office, structuring, credit and risk teams.

You will oversee cross-border securitisation, funds financing and bespoke transactions, manage external counsel, and develop templates and playbooks while mentoring

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 10+ years PQE in structured finance.
• Experience in cross-border financing and securitisation.
• Strong knowledge of structured finance principles and collateral arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to the business across the full lifecycle of structured financing transactions.
• Advise on regulatory developments affecting structured finance and financing markets.
• Oversee external counsel and manage legal costs effectively.
• Develop templates, policies and playbooks for the team.
• Provide legal training to business and support teams.
