Job description

Location: Oxford or London (Hybrid)

The Mission: Why We Exist

Genomics is a science-led transatlantic TechBio combining large-scale genetic and health data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery and advance predictive, preventative healthcare. We are united by a single vision to help people live longer healthier lives, using the power of genomics.

Genomics aims to help people live longer, healthier lives in two ways: super-charging drug discovery and development for novel treatments with our AI-enabled advanced genetic analytics platform, and by helping people understand their personal risk of common chronic diseases through polygenic risk scores - giving doctors and health systems the chance to get the right people into the right prevention, screening and treatment programmes at the right time.

A Day in the Life
  • Scan the competitive and scientific landscape - new data modalities, cohorts and therapeutic-area coverage - and translate what you find into a prioritised roadmap for our Data and Research Engineering teams.

  • Own our data sourcing and partnerships framework across tiers, negotiating access and commercial terms with biobanks, health data networks and TechBios.

  • Build the business case for new data investments and secure buy-in from senior stakeholders across tech, legal, business development and commercial teams.

  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic external partners and the wider scientific community - including leading cross-institutional workshops or consortia.

  • Work with engineering leadership to operationalise new data sources into the platform, making them actionable for our consulting teams and their Life Science partners.

Who You Are
  • You've designed and executed a genetic/genomic data strategy at biobank or population-cohort scale, and know how to spot a gap in a dataset before anyone else does.

  • You've negotiated data access and commercial terms with academic, government, non-profit and industry partners, including complex, multi-party data sharing agreements.

  • You have a strong grounding in statistical/population genetics (GWAS and post-GWAS methods) - enough to judge the scientific and commercial value of a dataset or partnership without needing to lean on others.

  • You're a credible strategic partner to engineering, legal, commercial and scientific leadership, with a track record of winning senior executive buy-in.

  • You've led or contributed to multi-institutional collaborations or consortia, and can explain complex data strategy clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.

  • You hold a PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in genetics, genomics, statistical genetics, epidemiology or a related quantitative discipline.
