Job summary

Relx Plc is seeking a Director, Data Architecture to lead the shift to a product-based data architecture across the data estate. You will build and lead a data-architecture team, champion a data mesh transition, and ensure governance and interoperability across domains.

You will balance strategic direction with hands-on technical oversight, collaborating with senior stakeholders to align data products with business outcomes and platform standards such as Snowflake.

Qualifications

• Experience leading architects or senior technical staff.
• Experience designing data architectures in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of data mesh concepts and migration from centralized models.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and grow a team of data architects with mentorship and career development.
• Define target-state data architecture and data mesh principles across domains.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify valuable data products and outcomes.
• Lead migration from centralized data warehouse/ODS to distributed, domain-oriented architecture.
• Establish standards for data modelling and interoperability across federated teams.
• Represent data architecture in senior technology and business forums.
