Job summary

Secretariat is seeking an experienced professional to join its Construction Quantum Team in London to lead and support on high-profile construction disputes. You will work with world-renowned quantum experts, preparing expert reports and managing workload across significant projects in an international context.

The role demands a strong background in engineering/construction, a track record of delivering expert reports, and the ability to win appointments.

Qualifications

• Degree level education in Engineering, Construction or Quantity Surveying related field.
• RICS qualified.
• Ideally 15 years+ of construction related industry experience.
• Ideally a further qualification in construction law (MSc or similar).
• Experience in preparing Quantum Expert reports.
• Proven business development experience and ability to win expert appointments.
• Broad experience across a range of construction/engineering projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable with large sets of data.
• Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced international consultancy environment.
• Aptitude for developing solutions to resolve complex problems.
• A team player.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Willing to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Supporting world-renowned quantum experts in formal dispute resolution proceedings.
• Assisting in undertaking detailed analysis and preparation of expert reports and all other aspects of an expert witness workload on substantial disputes.
• Managing the workload and tasks of the project team
• Managing budgets and fee reports
• Assisting in analysis or preparation of expert reports.
• Leading management, development and training of your team members
• Client and lawyer liaison, including leading client meetings.
• Liaison with other expert disciplines.
• Continue to build Secretariat’s reputation in the construction sector and legal community
• Acting as an expert witness and winning your own premium expert appointments
