Job Description:

The opportunity
Founded in 1962, OMERS is one of Canada's largest defined benefit pension plans and a significant long-term investor in the UK, with C$97 billion in assets globally (as of December 31, 2018). OMERS invests and administers pensions for almost half a million active and retired members from the municipal sector in Ontario, Canada. OMERS is seeking a Director, Investment Communications to lead the implementation and further development of their communications strategies in the UK, Europe, Australia, and Asia. The position is based in their London office and will support programs reaching North America.

Main responsibilities
  • Develop and direct the global external communications strategy to promote and protect the OMERS brand as a pension manager, investor, and employer
  • Create an integrated, multi-channel approach to communicate OMERS story to key stakeholders
  • Identify communication opportunities and risks through horizon scanning and recommend strategies
Key skills and experience
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful global communications strategies
  • Experience in organizational and leadership profile management; media relations experience is a plus

Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
