Position Summary:

Aura Biosciences is seeking a Director of Commercial Supply Chain to lead critical launch readiness activities in support of its first commercial product. Reporting to the Head of Global Product Supply, this individual will be responsible for ensuring end-to-end operational readiness across demand planning, packaging, shipping logistics, labeling, distribution, and serialization. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience supporting commercial product launches in a GxP environment, with a strong understanding of global distribution, ERP/serialization systems, and outsourced manufacturing partnerships. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams including Technical Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial to deliver a robust, compliant, and scalable commercial supply chain that supports Auras strategic goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operationalize the commercial supply chain strategy for Auras VDC launch, translating cross-functional inputs into executable supply plans.
  • Lead development and maintenance of commercial demand forecasts and inventory strategies, ensuring availability across key markets.
  • Oversee packaging, labeling, and distribution execution through CDMOs and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), including serialization and global cold chain logistics.
  • Drive the execution of Auras shipping validation strategy, including packaging qualification, lane mapping, and temperature monitoring.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing configuration of ERP and serialization systems, providing user requirements and ensuring DSCSA compliance.
  • Participate in the S&OP process to align demand, supply, and inventory planning across internal stakeholders.
  • Support clinical supply logistics as needed, including coordination of packaging, labeling, and global distribution of clinical trial material (CTM) to ensure continuity of supply across ongoing and future studies.
  • Serve as primary supply chain lead for launch readiness activities, ensuring inspection readiness, compliance with regulatory expectations, and CMO/vendor oversight.
  • Monitor key supply KPIs and lead issue resolution related to inventory, release, or logistics disruptions.
  • Partner with Commercial, Regulatory, and Technical Operations to ensure continuity of supply and successful execution of launch strategies.
  • Lead or contribute to CDMO governance meetings, identifying risks, opportunities, and ensuring alignment on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Manage commercial supply chain budgets and contribute to cost optimization efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain, engineering, life sciences, or a related field; advanced degree .
  • 12+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical supply chain operations, with 5+ years supporting commercial readiness or launch activities.
  • Proven experience executing global commercial supply strategies in collaboration with CDMOs, 3PLs, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP/GDP requirements and commercial product distribution (including cold chain and serialization).
  • Experience contributing to or managing ERP and serialization systems; understanding of DSCSA and international serialization regulations.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Experience preparing for regulatory inspections or presenting supply systems and practices to authorities is .
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, fast-paced, and evolving environment with a high degree of independence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.

Salary & Benefit Information:

Salary Range: $185,000/yr - $245,000/yr

(Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to: geographic location, degree, years of experience, and internal company equity)
