Information Technology Services (ITS) is a department within LHSC providing services in the areas of Network and Telecommunications, Helpdesk, Cyber Security, Clinical and Corporate Applications Support, Clinical Informatics, Interface Creation and Support, Device Deployment, and IT Project Management. ITS delivers services to LHSC along with many regional hospital partners and supports more than 20,000 users of computer systems and devices. Our goal is to support and advance clinical care and quality through the deployment and support of innovative technologies.

Job Summary
The Director, Clinical ITS role is specifically aligned to support LHSC's clinical information systems, most notably our Health Information System (HIS) "OneChart", which is an Oracle Health (previously Cerner Millenium) platform. The Director is accountable for strategy, operations and project delivery related to our clinical systems and manages vendor relationships, contracts, delivering service at a regional level. Programs within the portfolio include application support, clinical informatics, and virtual care as examples. This role works closely with the other Directors in ITS to ensure complex systems and interrelated technologies function as appropriate. The role is accountable to lead multiple direct reports at the Manager level, is responsible for large teams of technical and clinical experts, and will work collaboratively with Director peers within ITS, as well as the Director group at LHSC and various leaders throughout the region.
Reporting to the Corporate Information Officer at LHSC , the Director , Clinical ITS will operationalize the strategic direction of the executive team. The ability to leverage system thinking and develop purposeful coalitions with internal and external stakeholders will be key. This position requires someone with a proven track record for leading system transformation, with demonstrated ability to support innovation and orchestrate change. The Director, Clinical ITS is accountable for developing and sustaining healthy work environments, coaching and mentoring leaders and staff, and building effective teams while leading in a performance-driven culture. The successful applicant will organize program activities, direct resources, execute operational initiatives, formulate policies & procedures, and strategically plan for the future.
The Director Clinical ITS will demonstrate strong business acumen, including management of multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets. This leader will have exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills that contribute to identifying problems and issues, evaluating the interdependence of decisions, questioning and challenging the status quo, and designing and implementing processes for improvement.
