Introduction to the team

Expedia Group is hiring a Director, B2B Communications to lead its top‑of‑funnel strategy and externalize thought leadership as the largest and leading B2B travel provider. Expedia Group’s B2B division is the travel provider in the industry, powering supply and technology across 70,000 global partners.

This role leads a Comms team within Partner Communications and is the strategic communications advisor to our Commercial organization. This role combines earned media, executive and thought leadership positioning, and owned/channel campaign development to drive awareness, partner engagement, and commercial outcomes. You’ll partner closely with Content, Marketing, Product, Sales/Commercial, Public Relations peers and others to plan and execute integrated, measurable campaigns and product/partnership announcements that reinforce Expedia Group’s leadership in travel and travel technology.

In this role you will

Define and lead Top‑of‑Funnel communications strategy for Expedia Group B2B:

  • Externalize our thought leadership through earned channels (media, industry associations) and amplify through owned channels.
  • Build and direct Strategic ToFu Campaigns that combine PR, content, events, email, social and partner channels to maximize reach and ROI.

Own campaign development and execution:

  • Lead integrated campaign planning across teams and lines of business (LOB), turning commercial priorities into cohesive communications programs.
  • Work with LOB‑dedicated SMEs to surface differentiated points of view and craft compelling narratives tailored to partner audiences.
  • Oversee creative, content, production and channel plans to ensure campaigns are integrated, on‑brand and measurable.

Serve as a strategic communications advisor to commercial and product leaders:

  • Drive business briefs and counsel executives on positioning, messaging and go‑to‑market timing for new partnerships, products and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead announcement strategy and execution for product launches, partnership news and program expansions, coordinating PR, marketing and sales enablement.

Support RFP narrative development:

  • Partner closely with the commercial team to shape compelling, data-informed messaging for RFP submissions; ensure consistency in positioning, alignment with strategic priorities, and copy-editing of stakeholder inputs to maintain clarity and differentiation across submissions.

Drive earned media:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key trade, tech, and business press, industry influencers to secure coverage and shape market narrative.
  • Equip spokespeople with talking points, executive briefs and media training as needed.

Lead and scale the team:

  • Manage and mentor a small, high‑performing team of communications professionals and SMEs, set priorities and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Manage external agencies and vendors where needed; steward budgets and timelines.

Collaborate cross‑functionally:

  • Partner tightly with Marketing to convert awareness into pipeline and ROI; coordinate with Product, Sales/Commercial, Events, and Legal/Compliance to ensure aligned, timely execution.
Experience & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of communications experience in B2B enterprise environments (tech, SaaS, travel, or related industries), with progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Proven track record leading Top‑of‑Funnel and thought leadership programs that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Deep experience with integrated campaigns — combining earned media, content, events and paid/owned channels — and working closely with marketing to optimize ROI.
  • Strong advisor to senior commercial and product leaders; experienced in executive communications and media readiness for C‑suite and client‑facing leaders.
  • Excellent storyteller and editor who can translate complex products and partnerships into clear, persuasive narratives for partners, customers and industry audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead cross‑functional teams, manage agencies and deliver on tight timelines and budgets.
  • Data‑driven approach: comfortable defining KPIs, tracking performance, and iterating based on insights.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking; able to tie communications work to commercial outcomes and go‑to‑market plans.
  • Experience with analyst relations, media relations, and event content development is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
