Role Overview

We seek a Director of AI Engineering to lead our AI and ML development, focusing on designing complex AI agents, communication architectures, and automating system design and evaluation. The role involves overseeing traditional deep learning models, fine-tuning LLMs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI applications in life sciences/health tech.
2. Develop automated techniques for agentic system design and evaluation.
3. Design tools and architectures for AI agents, including observability pipelines.
4. Develop and deploy deep learning models, including fine-tuning LLMs.
5. Mentor and grow the AI team, fostering innovation and best practices.
6. Manage a portfolio of AI projects and guide architecture decisions.
7. Deliver production-ready code and collaborate across teams to align AI initiatives with business goals.
8. Represent Evinova at conferences and industry events.

Skills & Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent in relevant fields.
• 5+ years in applied machine learning, especially deep learning, NLP, generative AI.
• Proven track record of impactful AI solutions.
• Experience with large language models, Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex.
• Knowledge of agentic AI frameworks, reinforcement learning, and healthcare applications.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and ML deployment practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with TypeScript, AWS CDK, open-source contributions, high-performance ML languages, and AI architectures.
• Background in drug development or pharmaceutical industry is a plus but not required.
