Job description

Director - AI Enablement and Engagement

Group AI Management and Strategy (AIMS) team is responsible for developing and implementing Group-wide strategic programs across HSBC aimed at accelerating the commercialisation and delivery of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) across HSBC. Key areas of focus include responsible development practices, common platforms and capabilities, AI technology enablement, governance, and the Group-wide AI Strategy.

In this fantastic new role, you will join a growing team to lead Group-wide AI Enablement and Engagement. This is a critical role for HSBC that helps to shape the culture, talent, capability development, and organizational design that support the bank's Group AI Strategy. This is a unique opportunity to drive impact at the intersection of AI innovation and human capital.

In this role, duties will include:

  • Developing and executing the people plan for data science, AI Engineering, and AI adjacent talent in alignment with the bank's AI Strategy.
  • Partnering with Talent Acquisition to attract world-class AI and tech talent. Building a sustainable pipeline for future roles through partnerships with universities, tech hubs, and industry communities.
  • Partnering with people capability in the design and implementation of learning & development programs tailored to AI data science, AI engineering, and Responsible AI. Driving upskilling across the bank to foster an AI-literate workforce.
  • Collaborating with AI leadership and HR to design agile, high-performing team structures that support innovation. Championing a culture of responsible AI, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Defining performance metrics and engagement strategies for AI talent. Supporting career pathing and retention strategies that align with employee aspirations and business needs.
