Job summary

Premier Research seeks a Director, Statistical Programming Innovation & Technology to lead our Biostatistics team. You will shape the strategy and capabilities that drive cutting-edge programming for biotech, medtech and pharma projects, with a focus on scalable, compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities include defining technical roadmaps, piloting AI-assisted tools, building automated pipelines in R and Python, leading SAS-to-R migrations, and mentoring a growing team of developers to deliver

Qualifications

BS or equivalent in a quantitative field or related experience.
10+ years of statistical programming in R and SAS within CRO/pharma settings.
5+ years in a technical leadership role.
2+ years as supervisor/manager.
Strong R skills for data manipulation and analysis.
Experience building tools/pipelines to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the technical roadmap for innovative statistical programming practices, tools and infrastructure.
Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-assisted tools to improve programming efficiency, quality and compliance.
Identify opportunities to replace SAS-based processes with automated pipelines using R/Python and AI.
Design, build, and maintain reusable tools, macros, packages, and templates.
Lead migration and integration of SAS workflows to R/Python-based solutions.
Provide technical direction for R Shiny apps and deployment standards.
Set standards for Shiny architecture, performance, and deployment.
Mentor and develop direct reports, fostering continuous learning and excellence.
