Job summary

Equinix seeks an experienced Director of Product Software Architecture and Engineering to build and lead a DevOps-focused team delivering an AI and container management service. You will partner with product management to define requirements, SLAs, and goals, and integrate with global ordering and back-office systems for self-service capabilities.

You will lead architecture, platform governance, and the deployment of cloud-native practices, driving automation and enterprise-grade availability

Qualifications

• Director-level experience managing managers and delivering multiple software products or services.
• Proven experience leading DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering teams.
• Strong operational experience providing a highly available global service.
• Experience delivering Kubernetes or OpenShift-based infrastructure at scale.
• 15+ years in a software development leadership role.
• Bachelor's in Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Equinix's AI and Container Management Service.
• Partner with Product Management to translate customer needs into platform capabilities.
• Establish SLOs, operational standards, and platform governance.
• Drive cloud-native best practices across engineering and operations teams.
• Lead architecture and DevOps for Kubernetes/OpenShift-based managed services.
• Ensure platform scalability, resiliency, security, and operational readiness.
• Drive automation across provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams for seamless integration.
• Develop operational KPIs and continuously improve service availability.
