The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a Directed Pathways Coach (DPC) to support the success of the Directed Pathways Programme. You’ll engage with the curriculum area of the pathway, including Teachers, Community Support Officers, Pastoral Tutors, and the wider community where appropriate.

Alongside curriculum delivery and learning inside and outside the classroom, you’ll provide 1:1 or small group support to foster student wellbeing, resilience, and progress across curriculum areas, creating opportunities for learners to access education. The DPC will promote a safe and inclusive environment, implementing strategies to reduce barriers to learning and encourage positive engagement. The role may also include supporting learners who are Looked After, NEET, have attended alternative provisions, or have been out of education for periods of time.

Requirements include holding a level 2/3 Certificate or Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools/FE (or equivalent) and recent relevant CPD, with an awareness of academic quality standards. Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or disrupted education, knowledge of EHCP processes, and safeguarding procedures are essential.

You should be able to support, motivate, and empathise with learners, including monitoring progress. We value energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for further education. Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email, are required. You should have high personal standards, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Working days and hours may vary throughout the academic year depending on the needs of the School.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review in the upcoming academic year.

Closing date for applications: 10th July 2025.

Benefits include a significant employer contribution to pensions (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities, professional development, and a salary sacrifice cycle scheme. The benefits are pro-rated for part-time staff.
