Job summary

FLY is seeking a highly skilled Sample Machinist to work closely with the CEO on the design, development and creation of premium garments and leather goods. You will transform concepts into beautifully constructed samples and contribute ideas throughout the creative process.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in luxury fashion with strong sewing machine skills and a deep understanding of garment construction.

Qualifications

• Essential: Proven experience as a Sample Machinist in luxury or designer fashion.
• Essential: Excellent industrial sewing machine skills.
• Essential: Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics and finishing techniques.
• Essential: Ability to work from sketches and reference samples.
• Desirable: Experience with leather and leather goods.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CEO to develop new garment and leather goods designs.
• Create high-quality samples and prototypes from initial concepts and sketches.
• Cut, sew, construct and finish garments to an exceptional standard.
• Assist with development of leather goods, including bags and accessories.
• Provide technical advice on garment construction, fabrics and finishes.
• Make alterations to achieve desired fit and aesthetic.
• Support pattern development and adjustments as required.
• Experiment with construction methods to achieve innovative designs.
• Maintain high attention to detail and craftsmanship.
