Job description

The Diocese of Down and Dromore seeks to appoint a Diocesan Finance Manager. This is a part–time, permanent post and a senior position within the diocese. As such the post-holder will be expected to actively support and further the Christian ministry and mission of the Church. 

The successful applicant will have responsibility for accounting and financial services and reporting, ensuring probity and compliance to all financial regulations and the implementation of good governance. He/she will also support and advise parishes on financial matters and represent the diocese to all parties.

The post-holder may be qualified by experience or a part qualified accountant. They will be supported by a small diocesan finance team.

Salary: PO3, currently £40,221 to £43,421 (Pro Rata). There is flexibility to increase this rate.

Term of Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part-time 21 hours per week. Generally working between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Hybrid working is available. Flexible working (including occasional evenings) will also be required to meet the needs of the diocese and for which time off in lieu will be given.
