Job Description
Due to a growing demand from our customers, we are looking for a forward thinking, collaborative and self-motivated individual to join our motivated team of technical experts. This is an exciting and meaningful time to join DIO and get the opportunity to work on one of the largest estates in the UK.
The successful candidate will lead a range of compliance focused operational challenges – putting safety first, implementing long-term compliance improvement plans, upskilling local teams, identifying opportunities towards Net Zero, to name a few. Everything you do will be in support of a safe and compliant estate and to support the strategic goals of the military. You will be rewarded with a great sense of achievement by supporting the accomplishment of our team outputs and goals to provide excellent facilities for our Service Personnel across multiple MoD locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- delivering outputs for the Regional Technical team around the West Midlands Area
- providing specialist B&CE technical advice and guidance to the Infrastructure Manager and frontline infrastructure staff working on military establishments within the Area
- travel between active construction sites to review projects, infrastructure and local issues (Health and Safety training will be provided)
- progressing construction projects with new FDIS Industry Partner, VIVO where works may be new build, refurbishments of existing assets or minor Infra work to the value of circa £4M in support of military capability
- ensuring progress is maintained throughout the procurement process and through delivery
- engaging with industry in an agile and collaborative environment with the key objectives of;
- getting to the best technical solution
- maintaining the estate statutory compliant
- advising on value for money of minor works prices
- assurance of delivery of allocated projects
- engaging on customer engagement forums on issue affecting the MoD Estate
- collaborating closely with other function SMEs to ensure accurate product delivery
- providing colleagues with Technical advice
- maintaining currency through CDP and Industry knowledge
As there is a need to visit multiple sites some of which are not accessible by public transport, a UK driving license is required. Site visits may require an overnight stay, however this will be agreed in advance.

Person specification
The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria;
- Proven experience in compliance management across a large portfolio or/and complex organisation
- Experience of working in a property management (or similar) organisation
- Understanding and complying with estate and property related legislative, statutory, regulatory and professional requirements
- Relevant experience of working in highly collaborative environments and/or matrix managed organisations
Qualifications:
- hold a BTEC/ SQAHNVQ or SCOTVEC HNC/ HND in relevant field OR Substantial relevant & recent experience in a construction, infrastructure or engineering related discipline and willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification
Memberships:
- hold professional membership of a relevant professional body, or working towards, or willing to work towards.
