Where business needs allow, this role may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working, therefore you must consider if any of the above locations are within a reasonable travelling distance. Job Description
There are two roles available, one in the Cost and Price Analysis Capability Team (CPAC) and one in the People, Business and Finance Team.
The
Cost and Price Analysis Capability (CPAC) Hub sits within the Commercial Operations Pillar. CPAC provides a single source of trust, cost and price intelligence for defence in one centralised location. This is to support DIO’s cost and pricing activities, standardised processes for capturing and storing future cost data, to drive smarter advice, investment decisions and increase value for money throughout the investment lifecycle. The capability contains a variety of services within it, from cost intelligence tools to extract data from the central data stores for cost estimation and benchmarking, standardised templates to capture cost data in a uniformed approach, training, professional development opportunities and self-help. CPAC also offers a cost advisory service for any advance costing enquiries that may come through.
The CPAC Team Support and Secretariat supports the effective running of operations, attending and supporting project governance meetings, tracking business risks, providing Hub administration and team management in support of the Planning and Operations Manager. They also help to develop and maintain management information, governance, assurance, and business intelligence solutions to enable the CPAC leadership team to continue to monitor, direct and improve all aspects of operational performance. The post holder will require well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to challenge and negotiate and to build and maintain good working relationships, up to and including senior management level. They may have participated in project planning and management previously and are interested in using this experience more extensively.
The
Budgets and Finance team sits within the Commercial Operations Pillar and the role will support the finance lead, engaging with 1* delivery pillars and stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and timeous provision of all financial information and collaborating to identify and drive funding efficiencies.
We are responsible for the proactive bidding, management and reporting of the departments’ budgets, developing effective reporting procedures which enable effective and consistent financial decisions to be made.

As Operations Associate Practitioner Support, your responsibilities will include the following:
- You will work with a diverse, committed and upbeat team, who all bring different skills and experiences to the team, thus crafting an environment of continual learning

- You will support the team in carrying out timely and effective information gathering and budget reporting
