We have an excellent opportunity for a Dining Care Assistant to join our clients residential and respite care team at their outstanding CQC care home in West Wickham. Please note that our client is not offering sponsorship at this time so please only apply if you have eligibility to work in the UK.

About the Role
As a Dining Care Assistant, you will work under the supervision of the Senior Care Assistant or Nurse in charge providing individual patient care, paying close attention in the resident’s nutrition and hydration in accordance to their care plan and you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the quality of personal care provided to the residents as well as the tidiness and cleanliness on the specific units/areas/floors are to the correct standards and in line with the NMC Code of Conduct 2015
  • Assist residents with meals and hydration
  • Act as the Nutrition and Hydration lead when on duty
  • Serve and assist residents with meals who need help
  • Prepare snacks and drinks
  • Take ownership of the unit kitchen ensuring it is fully stocked and kept clean at all times
  • Ensure the dietary requirements of residents are met and where appropriate recorded
  • Participate in the safe and effective running of the home in liaison with the registered nurse in charge/Unit Manager
  • Monitor and participate in the care of residents in the care home
  • Encourage residents to remain as independent as possible
  • Read and assist in writing reports, take part in staff and resident meetings and triaging activities as required
  • Comply with the homes guidelines and policies at all times
  • Report to the Registered nurse any changed in the health or welfare of residents and any untoward incidents
  • Maintain and promote the Ethos of the home and the congregation

About You
To be successful in the role of Dining Care Assistant you must have / be:

  • Working towards or have achieved NVQ in Care and Health Level 2
  • Reliable and punctual with a friendly caring approach
  • A Genuine desire to help people with an ability to show empathy and understanding towards residents
  • The ability to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Tact and sensitivity
  • A respectful approach to residents and relatives

About the Salary & Rewards
For the role of Dining Care Assistant, your working hours will be 7:30am to 2:30pm over 2 to 3 days per week (weekend work is expected) and you will receive an excellent salary of £12.11 per hour plus:
