Job summary

Atomic Weapons Establishment is recruiting a Metrology Engineer specialized in dimensional inspection for on-site work at Burghfield. You will develop and implement precision metrology processes using CMMs and first-principles measurement to certify nuclear weapon product quality.

The role requires experience with GD&T, Quindos/PC-DMIS, and a strong background in precision manufacturing. Training will be provided, with a clear career path in metrology and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Experience with metrology and dimensional inspection in high-precision manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CMM programming and GD&T.
• HNC level engineering qualification or equivalent and an engineering apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate metrology methods for product verification.
• Evaluate inspection technologies to select best fit.
• Implement dimensional inspection processes and QA checks.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications (GD&T).
• Work onsite and support on-site inspection activities.
