AWE Burghfield is seeking a Metrology Engineer for Dimensional Inspection to join a on-site team that ensures precision in nuclear weapon product verification. The role focuses on metrology method development, CMM-based inspections, and first-article measurements in a highly secure environment.

You will work closely with development teams, apply GD&T and measurement principles, and contribute to a career path in metrology, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with first principles measurement using manual instruments.
• Experience using Quindos and/or PC-DMIS software for CMMs.
• Experience defining measurement processes and inspecting first articles/one-offs.

Responsibilities

• Identify metrology methods to verify product integrity.
• Evaluate inspection technologies for suitability.
• Develop and implement metrology and dimensional inspection methods.
• Apply inspection tools and techniques to production activities.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to support metrology tasks.
