About the role

You will play a key role in ingesting Bodleian and Oxford colleges’ materials into Digital Bodleian, including images of rare books and manuscripts, maps and modern archival items. You will use online information sources and printed catalogues to source and check bibliographic metadata for items being digitized and carry out data entry within the digitization workflow. You will talk to curatorial staff and academic staff where necessary, carrying out any research, reformatting of existing catalogue entries, or analysis of images to ensure that the data held in our repository about the digitized version of the book is as accurate and complete as possible.

This is a full-time post, fixed-term for 12 months. Hybrid working is offered on a flexible basis, although some office-based working will be required especially during the onboarding period.

About You
You will be highly computer literate, with demonstrable experience in using common software applications e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and have the ability to learn quickly and use specialist software. You will have experience of working with structured records such as cataloguing or metadata and have excellent attention to detail, with particular regard to accurate and efficient data entry.
