About the Department

The Digital Workplace Engineering team is a key part of the Digital Workplace Services. It collaborates across groups to deliver a modern, secure, and cost-efficient service, enhancing colleague experience and ensuring continuous improvement.

About the Role

The Digital Workplace Engineer will work within a cross-functional team, focusing on improving Digital Workplace Technology, especially M365. This hands-on role requires expertise in designing and managing M365 and core infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage changes across M365 and Digital Workplace Technologies.
  • Ensure M365 stability and security through effective assessment and assurance.
  • Focus on FinOps: monitor costs, identify savings, and implement controls for budget management.
  • Reduce 'Click Ops' by adopting configuration management as code using DevOps tools and Terraform.
  • Drive M365 service adoption, reviewing usage and telemetry.
  • Enhance M365 controls and security scores, contributing to the roadmap and backlog.
  • Respond to audits and manage risks and controls.
  • Participate in troubleshooting outages and planning capacity.
  • Create and communicate knowledgebase articles; monitor tech trends for continuous improvement.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience managing IT systems and platforms.
  • Experience with digital employee experience tools, endpoint management, analytics, and automation.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders and manage priorities.
  • Proficiency in ITIL environments.
  • Knowledge of continuous engineering, agile methodologies, automation, and AI/ML.

Technical Skills

Proven experience with Microsoft M365, including:

  • Detailed knowledge of M365 and Azure.
  • Administration of Entra, Teams, SharePoint, Purview, Exchange, PowerShell, CIS & Secure Score, Conditional Access.
  • Experience with third-party tools like Mimecast and VFC Call Recording.
  • Understanding of security, resilience, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
