Job Title: Digital Underwriting Technician

Main Purpose

The Product Owner/Analyst will be based in our London office and involved in scope definition, requirements gathering, product development, implementation, and ongoing changes to support AXIS’s newly formed Digital Underwriting team. As Product Owner, you will manage the suite of products and liaise with nearshore development teams to align business needs with platform delivery. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills, be self-starting and independent, and capable of bridging the gap between business, IT, and vendors in a rapidly changing environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with the Digital Underwriting team to solve problems, identify improvements, and implement enhancements.
• Gather and prioritize business requirements.
• Coordinate with IT and operational teams to manage platform, process, and operating model changes end-to-end.
• Understand the product/software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Develop detailed business cases and requirement documentation for new products and enhancements.
• Make platform and pricing model adjustments aligned with business needs and controls.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops.
• Act as SME, staying current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Communicate updates and changes to stakeholders.

Required Education/Training & Experience

• Experience as a product owner and/or analyst.
• Proficiency in defining and prioritizing business requirements.
• Ability to analyze data to support requirements and solutions.
• Experience working with IT teams to define technical requirements.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of business processes and insurance products, regulations.

Facilitation, Presentation, and Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent communication skills, capable of operating in dispersed environments.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Proactive, consulting attitude, and ability to lead tasks independently.
• Attention to detail and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Domain and System Knowledge

• Experience in London insurance market, general insurance, or financial services.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of systems like Policy Admin, Delegated Underwriting, Pricing Tools, Low code platforms, Retail SME platforms.
• Proficiency with project management software (Azure DevOps, MS Office).
