Job description

Digital Transformation Senior Project Manager

Agile working (minimum 2 days in the office)

The key focus of the role is to deliver organisational and behavioural change within our MH and community services across Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich, forensics and our prison services. The post holder will proactively engage with staff to support the introduction of new systems and the redesign of current systems, processes and implement digital changes in working practices in order to maximise the benefits of assisted technologies.

The types of projects that the post holder may expect to be involved in will deliver new ways of working, finding innovative ways of using technology to improve the trust's service delivery and enhance the patient experience.

The post holder will be responsible for "large" scale projects, which will be triaged by the Clinical Design Authority (CDA). Large scale will be recognised by one or several of the following:o Number of staff impactedo Project valueo Project durationo Number of workstreamso System interfaces

This includes the promotion and greater use of existing capability, such as text message reminders, remote access to Oxleas RiO on iPads, eMeds and eObs, and new technology such as RPA, AI and Voice to Text.

Job responsibilities

Project Management

  • Designing specific areas of the Digital Transformation working agenda, developing and implementing the changes and proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
  • Assisting with the definition of governance arrangements for specific projects
  • Develop comprehensive project plans for each project
  • Managing third party contributions to each project, to include primary care and other external partners (e.g. Local Authority, Public Health, Third Sector, Commercial)
  • Working with manager to manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between different projects
  • Support line manager and service managers to scope out change to clinical pathways to improve quality and productivity, defining policies, procedures and supporting documentation (eg process maps and guidelines) for proposed changes.
  • Working with clinical staff, motivating and encouraging them to review their working practices and how they deliver services as a result of proposed changes
  • Managing risks to each projects successful outcome
  • Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps identified or issues arise
  • Supporting and encouraging behavioural change to meet the Trusts aims and objectives
  • Ratifying baselines set at project initiation and ensuring that project are delivered to time, cost and with quality.
  • Where there is extra demand, support the optimisation team in preparing project materials in preparation for Clinical Design Authority sign off.
  • Ensuring that at handover to BAU there are methods to track expected benefit and ensure that they are realised

Staff Engagement

  • Help develop a staff engagement plan for implementation of specific projects and the broader clinical transformation strategy
  • Undertake training and development for staff as appropriate to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Resource Management

  • Facilitating the involvement of individuals to the project delivery team as required. Ensuring that staff engagement is an integral part of the programme so that the new systems get quickly embedded into practice
  • Ensuring that the delivery of new services from the projects is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements

Communication

  • Develop a communications strategy for the individual projects that the post holder has responsibility for in conjunction with line manager
  • Day to day responsibility for the communications with stakeholders directly involved with the implementation of the projects
  • Lead on broader digital transformation communication plans setting up appropriate communications as required.
  • Develop and undertake presentations to a wide audience and to a high standard. The job holder will particularly build relationships and communicate with:-
  • Business Manager and Business support officers
  • All project leads and stakeholders to ensure a smooth implementation of change/project deliverables

  • Internal and external stakeholders, GP practices & ICBs, Local Authorities, Public Health, third sector, internal and external suppliers

  • Able to work autonomously in own role, accomplishing non routine activities and decision making.
  • Ability to engage with peers internal and external to the Trust.

  • Degree or equivalent experience Fully PRINCE2 or alternative methodology trained.
