Job summary

HMG Paints Limited, the UK’s largest independent paint manufacturer, is seeking a KTP Associate to drive a major digital transformation.

You will help design and embed a unified platform connecting production, planning, stock control and logistics, enabling forecasting, improved efficiency and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a minimum 2:1 BEng/BSc in Computer Science, Digital Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Technology or a related discipline.
• Experience in systems integration, IT architecture, data architecture, system interoperability, software development or digital transformation projects.
• Experience working with databases, reporting tools, forecasting systems or business platforms.
• Understanding of process improvement, operational excellence and data-driven decision making.
• Knowledge of AI, ML, intelligent automation or advanced analytics and their application in operations or manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics, ERP systems or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
• MSc in Digital Transformation, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related discipline desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills for complex change programmes across departments.

Job description

This KTP will develop and embed a unified digital platform that transforms HMG Paints’ operational systems, information flows and business processes. This position is central to the design and implementation of a major digital transformation programme designed to modernise processes and create a scalable digital infrastructure that supports future growth.

By introducing modern digital systems and integrated workflows, HMG Paints expects to improve forecasting accuracy, operational efficiency, stock control and customer responsiveness. The project will establish new organisational capabilities in digital transformation, systems integration, data analytics and process improvement.

The Associate will play a key role in driving organisational change, ensuring that new systems and ways of working are successfully adopted across the business. This will involve knowledge transfer, training and stakeholder engagement activities to support long-term sustainability beyond the KTP period.

Beyond the KTP, the business intends to build on the integrated platform, continuing to enhance operational efficiency and support future growth through data-driven decision making and digital innovation.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

• A graduate with a minimum 2.1 BEng/BSc in Computer Science, Digital Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Technology or a related discipline.
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience in systems integration, IT architecture, data architecture, system interoperability, software development or digital transformation projects.
• Experience working with databases, reporting tools, forecasting systems or business platforms.
• Understanding of process improvement, operational excellence and data-driven decision making.
• Knowledge of emerging digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, intelligent automation or advanced analytics, and their application within operational or manufacturing environments.
• Experience within manufacturing, logistics, ERP systems or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
• A postgraduate qualification (MSc) in Digital Transformation, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills, with the ability to support complex change programmes across multiple departments.

The project aims to integrate legacy systems and processes into a unified digital platform capable of supporting forecasting, planning, stock visibility and operational management. The integrated digital platform will connect production, planning, stock control, quality control, logistics and operational systems, resulting in a platform that will improve efficiency, decision making, forecasting and operational performance.

A key challenge will be understanding and mapping complex operational processes that have evolved over decades, whilst translating these into modern digital workflows and systems.

While HMG Paints possesses significant expertise in coatings manufacture and operational delivery, specialist expertise is required in systems integration, data architecture, change management and digital transformation to achieve its long-term objectives. This KTP will provide those capabilities and embed them within the organisation.
